Community Impact

Credit unions do more than just banking. We’re teaching youth about financial literacy. We’re choosing to volunteer in our communities. And we support causes unique to the neighbourhoods around our branches.

Being an active part of the community it’s important that we ask ourselves the question: what does it mean to be a good neighbour? Well, we think it’s about celebrating the things that make our communities great and to give back to our neighbours.

At Mountain View Financial we’re Making Money Make a Difference.

?Did You Know

In 2019:

  • $856,000 invested into local communities
  • 5200 volunteer hours contributed by employees
  • Funded 304 community projects in 41 communities
  • Employees built financial wellness skills in 1,195 Albertans
  • $30,000 given in matched savings programs

Investing in our community is an investment in ourselves. Why? Because we’re your neighbours, our kids go to the same school, we sit alongside you on the bleachers. We share a community - let’s build on the things that make it great.

Our contributions come in all shapes and sizes and for all kinds of needs. We’re committed to celebrating our communities so if you think you have eligible cause, then we’d love to hear from you.

4H Grants

Partnering with 4-H means we're helping local youth build bright futures for themselves and their communities. This grant program provides opportunity for local clubs to access $500 grants to help gain career skills or lead community building projects. Applications are presented to our nearest branch for consideration.

Act Local Grants

The Act Local branch giving program is designed to support grassroots projects and events making an impact in local neighbourhoods surrounding our branches.

These scholarships and donations that range from $100 - $4,000 help local organizations, societies, school, etc. kickstart community initiatives!

A partnership with Junior Achievement

Economics for Success encourages students to consider how they can prepare to enter the world of work. This program encourages students to reflect on the advantages of furthering their education by understanding the financial constraints of independence, learning how to budget, and the importance of career planning, mentorship and goal setting.

Learn & Earn is a matched savings scholarship program designed for youth entering their last year of high school. The 10-month matched savings program helps youth learn how to save, plan for their future, and pay for their post-secondary education or trades programs. Students can earn $4 for every $1 saved, up to $110 a month or $2,200 total.
